The nonmetal grinding medium for cement grinding is prepared from alumina or bauxite as a main raw material through burdening, molding and calcining; and the content of Al2O3 in the nonmetal grinding medium is 50-98wt%, the compressive strength of the medium is greater than 1000Mpa, and the Mohs hardness of the medium reaches above 7. The nonmetal grinding medium has the following advantages: 1, the power consumption of a grinding machine can be substantially reduced, so energy saving and consumption reduction are reached; 2, generation of static electricity is prevented, electrostatic adsorption is reduced, and the grinding efficiency is improved; and 3, the nonmetal grinding medium is prepared by adopting alumina as the main component, has high strength and has a micro-powder filling effect, so the quality of cement is not influenced even a small amount of particles shed and fall into the cement.
