A motion detection sensor (1) comprises a detection determining unit (324) that determines whether a detection subject is in a detected state or a non-detected state, a specular reflection determining unit (322) that determines whether reflected light incident on a line sensor (261) is specular reflected light, and a continuing presence determining unit (323) to determine whether the state in which the detection subject is present is continuing, wherein the detection determining unit (324) maintains a detected state detection result if the detection result by the continuing presence determining unit (323) is continuing when specular reflected light is detected during the time a detected state is determined, and changes the determination to a non-detected state for other determination results.
