The invention discloses iron ore tailings portland cement and a making method of the iron ore tailings portland cement, and relates to the technical field of portland cement preparation. The iron ore tailings portland cement is prepared by adopting 40-70% of clinker, 3-12% of gypsum, 20-35% of iron ore tailings, 10-30% of granulated blast-furnace slag and 3-15% of porcelain clay as the raw materials, and a chemical activator which is 0.04-0.12% of the total mass of the raw materials. According to the iron ore tailings portland cement and the making method of the iron ore tailings portland cement, the iron ore tailings, the granulated blast-furnace slag and the porcelain clay are utilized, and through scientific correction and complement of the components of the iron ore tailings, the granulated blast-furnace slag and the porcelain clay, the potential activities of the iron ore tailings, the granulated blast-furnace slag and the porcelain clay are improved. The wearing coefficient is improved. The replaceable primary resources are saved, the circular economy development is facilitated, the pollution is reduced, and the ecological environment is protected, further pollution to the environment is not caused in the production process.
