The invention provides a railway wagon body and a head cover locking mechanism thereof, wherein the head cover locking mechanism can improve the head cover locking reliability, is flexible and convenient to operate, and reduces time and effort. The head cover locking mechanism comprises a rotating shaft, pressure baffle plates and a handle, wherein the rotating shaft extends from front to back; a plurality of the pressure baffle plates are arranged at intervals; a first end of the handle is fixedly connected with the rotating shaft; a second end of the handle can rotate up and down around the first end, to drive the rotating shaft to drive each pressure baffle plate to compress or release the head cover; the head cover locking mechanism further comprises a locking member; the handle is provided with an opening formed toward left or right; when the handle rotates downward to drive the pressure baffle plates to compress the head covers, the locking member can extend into the opening and compresses down the bottom surface of the opening by using the bottom surface of the locking member so as to lock the handle; when the handle drives the pressure baffle plates to compress the head cover, the locking member can move transversely so as to extend into the opening, the upper and lower parts of the handle are locked by the locking member to limit the movement of the pressure baffle plates, thereby ensuring the head cover locking reliability.
