Copper red frits and pigments
The invention relates to porcelain glaze composition being free from lead, cadmium, bismuth, Ferrum, selenium, arsenic, tantalum and sulfide. The compositions includes a solid part including a glass frits part, wherein the glass frits part is copper-free and comprises: a. 55-75wt%SiO2, b. 4-22wt%R2O, wherein R is at least one of Na and K, c. 2-30wt%R'O, wherein R' is at least one of Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba, d. 0.1-3wt%AI2O3, and e. 1-15wt%SnO. The resulting compositions can be used to decorate and protect automotive, beverage, architectural, pharmaceutical and other glass substrates, generally imparting a red color.
