A channel latch capable of keeping a bolt acting for door locking has an auxiliary locking feature of preventing the lock from being opened. A locking mechanism is provided with a rotary barrel having a central reciprocating cylinder plunger. The central reciprocating cylinder plunger has a key part penetrating outward through a rotary barrel into a bolt key trough. When a tool is inserted into the rotary barrel to make the rotary barrel rotate, the plunger pushes against the spring and presses down. The key trough includes a longitudinal trough and a channel. Only when the rotary barrel rotates to a locking or unlocking position, the upward release of the plunger is limited. Once the plunger is released, the key and a trough post prevent the lock to rotate.
