Pile hammer
A pile hammer includes a cylinder (1); a piston (2) displaceably guided in the cylinder (1); a striker (3) displaceably guided in the cylinder (1) and disposed underneath the piston (2) in the operating position of the pile hammer; a combustion chamber (12) delimited axially by a face surface (30) of the striker (3) that lies in the interior of the cylinder (1) and by a face surface (21) of the piston (2); and at least one fuel feed device, though which a predetermined amount of fuel can be introduced into the combustion chamber (12) during each work cycle. An end ring (6) is disposed on the cylinder (1) for forming a capture groove (63). The piston (2) is provided with a step that projects outward, which is blocked in the capture groove (63) in the upper end position of the piston, and the end ring (6) is elastically connected with the cylinder.
