The invention discloses formaldehyde-scavenging wallpaper and a production method thereof and belongs to the technical field of decoration materials. The formaldehyde-scavenging wallpaper comprises a bottom layer (1), a decoration layer (2) and an absorbing layer (3) from bottom to top and is formed by means of printing and stacking layer upon layer by a multicolour press, wherein the bottom layer (1) is non-woven fabric, the decoration layer (2) is a multicolor printing layer, and the absorbing layer (3) is made of materials with a formaldehyde adsorbing function. The formaldehyde-scavenging wallpaper has the advantages that the formaldehyde-scavenging wallpaper is capable of adsorbing and decomposing formaldehyde in the environment truly after being stuck on a wall, and recurrence is avoided; through testing of National Quality Supervision and Testing Center for Environment-Friendly products, formaldehyde scavenging ratio in 24 hours is 81%; through testing of (National) Technical Supervision and Research Center of the Building Materials Industry, the formaldehyde-scavenging wallpaper conforms to technical specifications of 'class-I materials' in JC/T1074-2008, and formaldehyde scavenging ratio is up to 80.6% (formaldehyde scavenging ratio is not less than 75% according to standard requirements of the class-I materials).
