The invention relates to a refractory coating for a ceramic kiln, in particular to a light refractory coating for the ceramic kiln. The refractory coating for the ceramic kiln comprises, by weight, the following components of 30-40 parts of 3-1 mm mullite aggregate, 5-15 parts of 1-0 mm andalusite aggregate, 10-20 parts of 0.5-0 mm flint clay aggregate, 11-21 parts of mullite powder, 4-6 parts of modified Faku soil, 5-7 parts of aluminate cement, 1-3 parts of mullite 1-5 micrometer crystal whiskers, 1-3 parts of titanium nitride 1-5 micrometer crystal whiskers, 3-5 parts of additives and alumina sol which accounts for 10-18% of the total weight of the components. The mullite-based refractory coating has the advantages of being good in painting performance and sinterability, short in maintenance time and capable of being quickly dried and used. After high-temperature heat treatment is performed, the refractory coating and kiln lining can be sintered together, the strength is high, the thermal shock resistance is good, cracking is not prone to occurring, the repairing effect is good, and the service life of the ceramic kiln can be effectively prolonged.
