The invention discloses a light partition wall batten. The light partition wall batten comprises a batten board core and batten coverings covering the front side and the back side of the batten board core, wherein the batten board core consists of EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) particles, light mineral waste slag, #425 ordinary silicon cement, coal powder, fibers, a foaming agent, an early strength agent, a foam stabilizing agent and a waterproof agent; the batten covering consists of magnesium oxide, magnesium chloride, magnesium-containing talcum powder, coal powder, fibers, a modifier, a deformation-resisting additive, an anti-alkali glass fiber gridding cloth and a waterproof or non-waterproof nonwoven fabric. The invention discloses a preparation method. The light partition wall batten is light in weight, the unit weight is about 610Kg/m<3> and is reduced by 200kg/m<3> or more compared with the conventional calcium silicate plate light partition wall board, and convenience is brought to the installation; the cost is low and is reduced about 10 percent compared with the existing concrete foamed light partition wall batten; the used raw materials and the production method are environment-friendly, low in carbon, energy-saving and capable of insulating sound, resisting earthquake and saving the space and simple and convenient to construct.
