The invention relates to a horizontal moving type swimming pool which comprises a pool body. A cover plate cavity is formed beside the pool body, a plurality of parallel horizontal sliding rails are arranged in the cover plate cavity, the horizontal sliding rails are perpendicular to the pool body side walls of the adjacent sides of the cover plate cavity, a horizontal sliding seat is arranged on the horizontal sliding rails, a hydraulic oil cylinder is arranged on the horizontal sliding seat, and the top end of the hydraulic oil cylinder is connected with a horizontally-arranged cover plate. The hydraulic oil cylinder drives the cover plate to do vertical motion, and the horizontal sliding seat drives the cover plate to horizontally move. Through the cover plate capable of doing lifting motion and horizontally moving, a pool opening of the swimming pool can be blocked, and pool water is protected against influence of outside factors.
