The invention discloses a drain valve and a method for improving the drain stability thereof. The drain valve comprises a drain valve body. An inner pipe and a drain hole are formed in the drain valve body. The bottom of the inner side of the drain valve body is provided with a partition ring capable of moving up and down. The partition ring comprises an annular side wall. The bottom of the drain valve body is partitioned into an inner cavity and an outer cavity by the annular side wall. A water discharge hole communicated with the inner cavity is formed in the bottom of the inner side of the annular side wall. The outer side of the annular side wall is sleeved with a first sealing piece. The first sealing piece can make contact with the drain hole to achieve seal. The lower end of the inner pipe is provided with a second sealing piece. The second sealing piece moves up and down along with the inner pipe to open or block the water discharge hole in the partition ring. According to the drain valve and the method for improving the drain stability of the drain valve, the partition ring is provided, when the inner pipe falls off, the water discharge hole is closed, and the partition ring can fall off quickly under the action of gravity and close the drain hole; the falling speed of the partition ring can be increased, and the drain stability is good.
