The invention relates to a gypsum board with an electromagnetic wave absorption function and a manufacturing method thereof. The gypsum board with the electromagnetic wave absorption function is manufactured by filling paper honeycomb structure holes having wave absorbing agents with a gypsum base body material. The gypsum base body comprises hemihydrate gypsum powder, modified starch and polycarboxylic acid high-performance water reducing agents, and the wave absorbing agents are one or more of crystalline flake graphite, expanded graphite and carbon black. The manufacturing method comprises the steps that the wave absorbing agents are added to paper honeycomb raw materials, or water, the wave absorbing agents and adhesives are stirred according to a ratio to be evenly mixed, and an ordinary paper honeycomb is soaked in the mixture for 1-5 minutes, so that a wave absorbing paper honeycomb is obtained; the wave absorbing paper honeycomb structure is cut to be in a required size; the gypsum base body and water are evenly mixed according to a proportion; the wave absorbing paper honeycomb structure is placed in a mold, the raw material mixture is poured into the mold for compression molding, demolding is conducted after forming, and then the gypsum board with the electromagnetic wave absorption function is obtained after natural drying. The gypsum board with the electromagnetic wave absorption function has the excellent electromagnetic wave absorption performance and can be applied to projects having the electromagnetic wave absorbing function.
