The invention discloses an ecological flow guaranteeing method based on downstream reservoir regulation. The method includes the steps that when a sluice gate of a flow-guiding sluicing building is opened, running reservoir filling on the downstream portion is recovered to the normal pool level; and after the sluice gate of the flow-guiding sluicing building is opened, ecological flow is provided to the downstream portion through power generation of a reservoir on the downstream portion or opening of the flow-guiding sluicing building. The ecological flow guaranteeing method basically has no influences on pivotal project distribution, is convenient and practical, and can be widely applied and popularized.
