The invention discloses a plane retractable film roof with upper vertical rods. The plane retractable film roof comprises a plane folding grid frame driven by an active rope, wherein the plane folding grid frame comprises main trusses and rigid press rods; the main trusses are in parallel arrangement; the rigid press rods are connected between the adjacent main trusses and are in parallel arrangement; a part between every two adjacent main trusses is divided into a plurality of rhombic units by the rigid press rods; each of the rhombic units which are positioned at the inside and are separated in the rhombic units between the two adjacent main trusses is divided into two half rhombic units; each half rhombic unit and the edge-sharing rhombic unit form a trapezoidal region unit; and an upper film structure is arranged on each trapezoidal region unit and comprises a vertical rod and a film material. The plane retractable film roof has the advantages that the telescopic effect is achieved by the plane folding grid frame; the plane retractable film structure with the upper vertical rods is used as the upper part, so that the grid frame achieves a freely telescopic effect; the structure is reasonable; the design and the construction are simple; and the plane retractable film roof is particularly suitable for medium-and-small-span buildings.
