The invention discloses a sway brace for prefabricated buildings. The sway brace comprises a bracing piece body. Two hollow steel pipes on the upper side of the bracing piece body are movably connected with each other by a sleeve, two screws which are vertically separated from each other are arranged in the middle of the bracing piece body, fixed bolts are respectively arranged on the upper and lower screws, movable stretching bolts are mounted on the screws and are positioned on the inner sides of the fixed bolts, and the two stretching bolts on the upper and lower screws are connected with each other by a reinforcing steel bar. The sway brace has the advantages that the bracing length of the sway brace can be accurately controlled, accordingly, the perpendicularity and the stability of walls can be guaranteed, the sway brace is easy to operate, convenient to disassemble and small in occupied space, and the construction progress and the construction quality can be effectively improved.
