The invention relates to a soil-bentonite vertical diaphragm wall and a construction method thereof. Original stratum soil produced in the trench digging process is doped with bentonite powder, the mixture and bentonite mud of a dado groove are mixed to form homogeneous materials similar to concrete mortar, and the soil-bentonite vertical diaphragm wall is formed in a dead load solidification mode, wherein the dry weight ratio of the bentonite powder to the original stratum soil is 3-5 percent; the content of montmorillonite of the bentonite is equal to or larger than 50 percent, the expansion index ranges from 25 ml/2g to 40 ml/2g, and the cation exchange capacity is larger than 120 mmol/100g.
