The invention discloses an elevator shaft doorway self-closed protective fence and a using method thereof. The protective fence comprises a mounting plate and a vertical rod which are arranged parallelly, two ends of a cross rod are rotatably connected with the mounting plate and the vertical rod through hinging bolts respectively, the mounting plate is fixedly arranged on the outer side wall of an elevator shaft doorway through mounting holes and expansion bolts, and the cross rod at the bottommost is fixedly connected with a foot retaining plate through welding. The using method includes the following steps: 1), after construction of the elevator shaft doorway is completed, mounting the self-closed protective fence on the outer side wall of the elevator shaft doorway; 2), when construction personnel needs to enter the elevator shaft doorway for operation, lifting the end, away from one side of the mounting plate, of the cross rod; 3), after the personnel enters the elevator shaft doorway, loosening the cross rod to allow the self-closed protective fence to restore to be in a shape before the cross rod is lifted. The elevator shaft doorway self-closed protective fence is simple in structure, safe, reliable, supportive of finalization production and reusable, safety during construction is guaranteed, and safety expense input is lowered.
