The invention relates to a foundation pit support system. At a lap joint position, an L-shaped transition wall is adopted by a former-period foundation pit support; a linear wall is adopted by a later-period foundation pit support; a water sealing up structure comprises a first continuous wall; the first continuous wall is grooved integrally with the L-shaped transition wall; one side of the first continuous wall is vertically connected with the outer side of the L-shaped transition wall; the other side of the first continuous wall extends toward a second foundation pit side and is in lap joint with a second continuous wall; the second continuous wall is L-shaped, and is in vertical lap joint with the linear wall; a transition area is defined by the two continuous walls and the linear wall; and the transition area is grooved integrally with the linear wall. Furthermore, the invention also relates to a construction method for the foundation pit support system. According to the construction method, the L-shaped transition wall, the two continuous walls, the linear wall and the transition area wall are combined for transition, so that a good sealing area is formed at the lap joint position of the former period foundation pit support and the later period foundation pit support; a water seepage path in the lap joint range can be effectively cut off; and a good water sealing up effect of a foundation pit is achieved.
