A municipal drainage system comprises a plurality of collecting basins and a plurality of drain passages; the collecting basins are disposed near different box-culvert roads, and horizontal height of the collecting basins is lower than the box-culvert roads; the drain passages are communicated with the collecting basins and the box-culvert roads, respectively, and are used for guiding flooding water from the box-culvert roads to the collecting basins; each collecting basin is provided with a water pump which can pump the water from the collecting basins to a municipal drainage line. The municipal drainage system further comprises a first moving water pump which can be moved to one of the collecting basins to pump the water from the collecting basins to the municipal drainage line.
