Provided is a thin and light double glazing for a building window that is capable of suppressing scattering of fragments as much as possible when broken. In a double glazing (10) for a building window, a glass plate (20) arranged on the indoor side has first and second main surfaces (21a, 21b) and an end surface (22), surface compression stress being formed on the main surfaces (21a, 21b) due to chemical tempering, and tensile stress being formed on the interior. The glass plate (20) has a plate thickness of 1.0-2.5 mm, a surface compression stress value of 400-900 MPa, and a tensile stress value of 1-25 MPa, and the thickness in the plate thickness direction of the compression stress layer of the main surfaces (21a, 21b) is 7-25 [mu]m.
