The invention relates to a preparation method of samarium zirconate ceramic. The preparation method includes: roasting Sm2O3 and ZrO2 in a zirconia crucible, allowing cooling to room temperature, weighing the treated Sm2O3, ZrO3 and fused salt, adding the Sm2O3 and ZrO2 into a zirconia ball-milling tank to carry out ball milling, adding the fused salt to carry out ball milling so as to obtain a mixture of the Sm2O3, ZrO2 and fused salt; adding the mixture of the Sm2O3, ZrO2 and fused salt into the zirconia crucible, performing roasting, and allowing cooling to the room temperature; washing off the fused salt from a product by means of a high-speed centrifuge and deionized water, and performing drying to obtain samarium zirconate powder; pressing the samarium zirconate powder by means of a sheeter into sheets, adding sheeted samarium zirconate into the zirconia crucible, performing roasting at 1300 to 1600 DEG C, and allowing cooling to the room temperature to obtain the samarium zirconate ceramic. The preparation method has low synthetic temperature, and the prepared samarium zirconate powder is good in thermal stability and never experiences phase transition at 1700 DEG C.
