The invention discloses a jet flow preventing water seal method and device of a plane gate. A gate lintel steel base (2) is arranged on the upstream side of a gate groove (1), and an n-shaped steel groove (3) is formed in the bottom of the upstream end of the gate lintel steel base (2). A corner water seal device body is arranged in the n-shaped steel groove (3), a strip-shaped water seal mat (9) and a strip-shaped round-head water seal (14) are arranged in the corner water seal device body, and the strip-shaped round-head water seal (14) is provided with a round head structure facing a gate face plate. In the opening and closing process of the gate (4), a round head of the strip-shaped round-head water seal (14) of the corner water seal device body on a gate lintel is in line contact with the gate face plate, and thus the corner water seal device body is closely attached to the gate face plate to achieve water sealing under the action of water pressure; and therefore, jet flow is prevented from being generated, vibration in the operating process of the gate and cavitation and cavitation erosion of the gate groove are reduced, and the operating safety of the gate is effectively guaranteed.
