A push-button switch device for a vehicle, the device having: a case that is affixed to a vehicle body or to a lid that is openably/closeably attached to the vehicle body; push buttons that form housing chambers together with the case and that are supported by the case so as to enable pressing operations; and switches that are housed and affixed within the housing chamber such that the switching state changes in response to a pressing operation of the push buttons. A communication passage (76), one end region of which communicates with the interiors of the housing chambers (72, 73), is formed in the case (22A) that is affixed to the vehicle body or to an outer panel (16) of the lid (15). Further, the case (22A) is provided with a ventilation hole (77) that allows the other end region of the communication passage (76) to communicate with the interior of the outer panel (16). Thus, the push-button switch device ensures a consistent operation feel of the push buttons by allowing for movement of air in and out of the housing chambers, in addition to protecting against the infiltration of water into the housing chambers while preventing the deterioration of the push buttons.
