The invention provides a method for windbreak and sand fixation. Polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl alcohol or vinyl acetate-ethylene is utilized for realizing sand fixation. The method of the invention performs a great function on sand treatment and fixation, desertification control, sandstorm damage reduction and control, and improvement of an ecological environment and human settlement environment in the sand area and a wider area. The method for windbreak and sand fixation further has advantages of preventing damage of quick sand in project construction at desert and wilderness areas; performing a good protective function on engineering facility, personnel and construction operation; effectively reducing sand dust and fugitive dust which reduce air quality, reducing content of small particles (such as PM2.5) which reduce the air quality, improving air quality, and improving the ecological environment and the human settlement environment.
