The present invention discloses a ceramic thin plate material and a preparation method thereof, wherein the raw materials comprise, by weight, 30-40 parts of sodium sand, 15-25 parts of porcelain stone, 5-10 parts of limestone, 8-15 parts of kaolin, 1-10 parts of wollastonite, 1-5 parts of needle-like mullite, 3-8 parts of bentonite, 2-10 parts of potassium and sodium feldspar, and 0.5-3 parts of zinc oxide. The preparation method comprises: a, weighing various raw materials according to the weight part ratio, and crushing to prepare a powder material; b, carrying out vacuum extruding on the powder material prepared in the step a to form a plate billet; c, carrying out multiple rolling extruding on the obtained plate billet; d, carrying out microwave drying on the cut plate billet, and then carrying out low temperature biscuit firing; and e, carrying out late-stage processing on the fired plate billet, and then carrying out grading packaging. According to the present invention, the material has characteristics of reasonable formula, simple preparation, effective water absorption reducing, toughness improving, impact resistance improving and excellent mechanical property, and the method has characteristics of production efficiency improving, production cost reducing, and good market prospect.
