The invention discloses a cermet material for a cutting pick of a coal mining machine, which is prepared from the following components in mass percent: 67.42% of diamond, 15% of silicon carbide, 10% of titanium nitride, 0.5% of amorphous silicon dioxide, 0.2% of cobalt oxide, 6% of boron carbide, 0.3% of tungsten carbide, 0.08% of graphene, 0.3% of nano iron powder and 0.2% of niobium carbide. The cermet material disclosed by the invention has the characteristics of high hardness, good toughness, wear resistance, impact resistance and the like and can be clad to the head of the cutting pick so as to well protect the head of a body of the cutting pick, reduce the wear rate of the head body of the cutting pick and enable the body of the cutting pick and an alloy head to be synchronously worn, thereby achieving optimal cooperation.
