The invention discloses a bridge-crossing assisting steel girder structure for a self-propelled modular transporter (SPMT) and a bridge-crossing method through the structure. The bridge-crossing assisting steel girder structure for the SPMT comprises a sliding module and two steel girder sets. The sliding module is arranged on the steel girder sets in a slidable mode, and the steel girder sets are arranged symmetrically. Each steel girder set comprises a bridge crossing steel girder and stress conversion girders connected to the two ends of the bridge crossing steel girder respectively. The bridge crossing steel girders are erected on a bridge, and roadbed cases are arranged at positions, in contact with a bridge roadbed, of the two ends of each bridge crossing steel girder. Roadbed cases are also arranged at positions where each bridge crossing steel girder and the corresponding bridge roadbed are in contact. An SPMT bridge crossing passage is arranged between the two steel girder sets. By means of the bridge-crossing assisting steel girder structure for the SPMT and the bridge-crossing method through the structure, the realistic feasibility of load sharing on the bridge of equipment for heavy parts by using an SPMT can be achieved, the load sharing design difficulty is reduced, and the bridge crossing method for the heavy parts is simplified.
