The invention provides a translational motion type stereo parking garage, belongs to the technical field of stereo parking garages, and solves the problem that in the prior art, a stereo parking garage with two or more layers is relatively difficult to develop. The translational motion type stereo parking garage comprises a vertically arranged upright post, car carrying platforms, a parking rack and a translational motion mechanism, wherein the parking rack is divided into a plurality of parking places from up to down; each parking place above the bottom layer corresponds to one car carrying platform; a lifting guide rail is vertically arranged on the upright post; a lifting block capable of rising and falling along the lifting guide rail is arranged on the lifting guide rail; a lifting system is arranged between the lifting block and the lifting guide rail; the lifting block is connected with the car carrying platforms through separable structures; and the translational motion mechanism can drive the upright post to horizontally move to further send the car carrying platforms to the corresponding parking places. According to the translational motion type stereo parking garage, transportation of the car carrying platforms of all the layers can be achieved through the common lifting block, and simplification of an integral structure can be guaranteed when the parking garage is developed into a stereo parking garage with more layers.
