The invention relates to the technical field of water and soil retention, and provides a planting structure. The planting structure comprises a cultivation pit, a pipe pile and first filled earth, wherein soil mass is fixed in a certain degree by inserting the pipe pile into the cultivation pit, rainwater can be stored in an irrigation pit formed above the first filled earth in the pipe pile, the stored rainwater vertically infiltrates under the limit of the pipe pile and can act on a root system of a to-be-cultivated plant completely, so that the to-be-cultivated plant can obtain sufficient water in the early growth period, the root system penetrates through root holes later, and soil reinforcement can be realized in a larger range. The invention further provides an ecological slope protection structure comprising multiple planting structures. According to the ecological slope protection structure, a baffle with a relatively higher middle part is arranged between every two adjacent planting structures in the transverse direction, surface runoff on a slope is divided to the pipe piles at two ends of the baffle, the rainwater resource is sufficiently utilized, and the survival rate of the plant is increased.
