The invention discloses a method for improving road traffic efficiency through a horizontal marking. The horizontal traffic marking additionally arranged on a road is utilized for controlling running and parking waiting of vehicles on all lanes, and therefore the road traffic efficiency is improved. For example, the horizontal marking is additionally arranged on the shared lane, and/or the horizontal marking is additionally arranged on the lane adjacent to the shared lane, when the running vehicles in the later releasing direction are parked on the shared lane for waiting for releasing or after the running vehicles in the former releasing direction are close to the end and before the running vehicles in the later releasing direction are about to run, the vehicles cannot cross the horizontal marking additionally arranged on the shared lane and are parked for waiting for releasing, and therefore the interference of the running vehicles in the later releasing direction with the former releasing direction can be reduced. If few running vehicles exist in the former releasing direction, the running vehicles can cross the horizontal marking to be parked for waiting for releasing to increase the traffic efficiency of the former releasing direction. The simple marking is utilized, the vehicles in the former releasing direction go through firstly, many passing obstacles of many vehicles in the later releasing direction on the vehicles in the former releasing direction are removed, and the road traffic efficiency is improved.
