The invention relates to a semiautomatic pneumatic lock and a working method thereof. The semiautomatic pneumatic lock comprises a lock shell and a lock shell cover. A lock pin penetrates the lock shell. An air cylinder is arranged in the lock shell. A spring is arranged at the top end of a piston rod of the air cylinder. The piston rod is fixedly connected with the lock pin. According to the semiautomatic pneumatic lock, the spring is arranged at the top of a piston, the air inflation state is the unlocking state, and the locked state is maintained even if the air way is cut off, so that safety is higher. The semiautomatic pneumatic lock is simple in structure, high in stability and high in safety; the semiautomatic pneumatic lock still can work normally under the serve conditions such as the extreme temperature and strong vibration.
