The invention discloses a gypsum thermal insulation building block which comprises a rectangular blocky gypsum shell, wherein the rectangular blocky gypsum shell is formed through pouring; a waterproof layer is arranged on the outer wall of the gypsum shell; wavy structures are arranged on the waterproof layer at equal intervals and are transversely arranged on the waterproof layer; mounting holes are formed in two ends of the gypsum shell; at least five porous foaming layers are annularly arranged at the mounting holes; a boss and a groove matched with the boss are arranged on each of the front outer wall and the rear outer wall of the gypsum shell; the width of each boss is 1/3-1/2 of that of the gypsum shell. The invention aims to provide the gypsum thermal insulation building block which is simple in structure, convenient and practical so as to solve the problems that the existing gypsum building block is poor in thermal insulation performance and adjacent building blocks slip.
