Resin-impregnated boron nitride sintered body and use for same
The present invention provides a resin-impregnated boron nitride sintered body having excellent heat conductivity and strength, and a resin-impregnated boron nitride sintered body having excellent conductivity and minimal heat conductivity anisotropy. The present invention provides a resin-impregnated boron nitride sintered body comprising 10 to 70 vol% of a resin and 30 to 90 vol% of a boron nitride sintered body in which boron nitride particles are bound three-dimensionally, the porosity of the boron nitride sintered body being 10 to 70%, the average long diameter of the boron nitride particles being equal to or greater than 10 [mu]m, and the resin-impregnated boron nitride sintered body having a graphitization index as measured by powder X-ray diffractometry of 4.0 or less, and a degree of orientation, measured as the I.O.P., of 0.01 to 0.05 or 20 to 100. The present invention also provides a resin-impregnated boron nitride sintered body containing 10 to 70 vol% of a resin and 30 to 90 vol% of a boron nitride sintered body in which boron nitride particles are bound three-dimensionally, the calcium content of the boron nitride sintered body being 500 to 5000 ppm, the boron nitride sintered body having a graphitization index as measured by powder X-ray diffractometry of 0.8 to 4.0, the boron nitride sintered body comprising scaly boron nitride particles having an average long diameter equal to or greater than 10 [mu]m, and the resin-impregnated boron nitride sintered body having a degree of orientation, measured as the I.O.P., of 0.6 to 1.4.
