The invention relates to environment-friendly interior wall paint and a preparation method. The environment-friendly interior wall paint comprises components in parts by weight as follows: 20-25 parts of titanium dioxide, 6-15 parts of talc powder, 2-5 parts of heavy calcium carbonate, 3-6 parts of hydropropyl methyl cellulose, 8-10 parts of a dispersant, 2-5 parts of a disinfectant, 1-3 parts of essence and 30-40 parts of water. The total amount of VOCs (volatile organic compounds), the sum of the content of benzene, methylbenzene, ethylbenzene and xylene as well as the content of free formaldehyde, soluble lead, soluble cadmium, soluble chromium and soluble mercury in the environment-friendly interior wall paint are far lower than related industrial standards and are significantly decreased.
