The invention discloses an ageing and cracking resistant aerated building block and a making method thereof. The aerated building block is made from, by weight, 16-28 parts of wollastonite, 29-43 parts of oil shale slag, 15-25 parts of apatite, 9-16 parts of tea seed meal, 23-37 parts of scoria, 12-18 parts of magnesium borate whisker, 17-29 parts of salty mud, 14-22 parts of alum stone, 7-11 parts of sodium tripolyphosphate, 19-31 parts of rag, 36-49 parts of ferrous aluminate cement, 4-7 parts of sodium coco alkylmethyl taurine, 3.5-5.5 parts of sodium peroxide and a proper amount of water. The scoria, the tea seed meal, the magnesium borate whisker, the rag and other raw materials added in the invention can substantially improve the compressive strength, the impact strength and other mechanical performances of the aerated building block, and also can improve the thermal stability, the ageing resistance and the cracking resistance of the aerated building block. The aerated building block made in the invention has the advantages of high strength, excellent ageing and cracking resistance, and durability.
