The invention provides a sediment reduction and siltation promotion device and an application method thereof. The sediment reduction and siltation promotion device at least comprises pile shafts and barrier nets. Every two pile shafts form a group. Each barrier net is supported by the two corresponding pile shafts. The barrier nets on the two sides are supported by intermediate pile shafts. A buoy is arranged on each pile shaft in a sliding mode. A plurality of lattices are formed through the barrier nets by means of suspension cables connected between the buoys and a plurality of reinforcement cables hung on the suspension cables downwards. A curtain hanging rod, a curtain falling rod, a curtain hanging window and two support bearings are arranged in each lattice, wherein the curtain hanging rod is supported between the two support bearings through a shaft and rotates around the shaft, the curtain hanging window is arranged between the curtain hanging rod and the curtain falling rod, holes are formed in the curtain hanging window, and the diameters of the holes are matched with the sizes of blocked particles. By the adoption of the sediment reduction and siltation promotion device and the application method thereof, the difficult problems that in the prior art, a dike riprapping type siltation promotion method is high in cost and poor in effect are solved, and environmental friendliness and low carbon of siltation promotion projects are promoted; in addition, by the adoption of the novel method, construction is convenient, the construction period is short, equipment cost is low, and repeated utilization can be achieved.
