The invention discloses a guarantee method of an unobstructed main road during the highway reconstruction and expansion construction period. The method comprises the steps of continuously establishing three temporary openings at one part of a medial strip; dividing the incoming lanes and the leaving lanes on the two sides of the medial strip of a highway to be reconstructed and expanded into construction sections with alternate A roadbed sections and B roadbed sections which have different lengths; after the early construction from the A roadbed sections to the lower surface layer of the road surface is over, driving the cars into the B roadbed sections through the temporary openings of the medial strip; and changing the passed temporary opening positions according to the construction progress, so as to create a working face for alternate construction of the A roadbed sections and the B roadbed sections to further achieve whole time unobstructed bi-directional four lanes. The method is clear in engineering significance and easy to operate, and can be used for guaranteeing the main bi-directional four lanes to be unobstructed during the construction period of reconstructing and expanding a bi-directional four-lane highway into a highway with eight or more bi-directional lanes.
