The invention relates to the technical field of a water tank, in particular to a water tank for a water closet. The water tank comprises a water tank main body, wherein a water quantity control knob is arranged on the water tank main body; a water quantity scale is arranged on the water quantity control knob; and a water flushing button is arranged on the water quantity control knob. By virtue of the water quantity control knob and the corresponding scale on the water tank, a user can select a water flushing amount as needed, so that a phenomenon of water waste since water quantity cannot be controlled at present is solved; and the water tank is simple in structure and convenient to use.
