The invention relates to a toilet flushing and water supplementing method. The toilet flushing and water supplementing method includes the steps of flushing a toilet after a flush cistern receives a flushing signal so as to drain out excrement; after flushing, supplementing water into the toilet for the first time by the flush cistern to enable the water level of the toilet to ascend by not less than h1, wherein the h1 refers to critical water level height required by water closing formed by the water surface of the toilet; after first-time water supplementing is finished, supplementing water into the toilet for the second time by the flush cistern. According to the toilet flushing and water supplementing method, the problem of toilet structure complexity caused by adding a water supplementing channel is avoided, the flush cistern can be downsized and integral space occupation of the toilet is reduced.
