The invention discloses standard modular components for buildings. Each standard modular component comprises a frame and an externally connected C type steel member; the outer frame unit of the frame is rectangle-shaped; the externally connected C type steel member is arranged on the outer side, not on the periphery, of the frame; the C type steel member is connected to one side edge of the outer frame unit of the frame in the length direction of the C type steel member; and the C type steel member partially stretches out from the outer side of the frame in the width direction of the C type steel member. The components comprise first components and second components, and the outer frame units of the frames of the first and second components are rectangle-shaped. The invention also discloses a prefabricated building comprising a building structural frame assembled by the standard modular components for buildings mentioned above. According to the invention, prefabricated production can be carried out through the general standard modular components, changeable low-rise common civil building structure forms can be achieved, building efficient using demands of people are met, assembling industrialization demands of improved low-rise buildings or other low-rise functional houses are met, and the standard modular components and the prefabricated building are suitable for popularization and applications.
