The invention provides a parking place prompting device which comprises a spotlight and a display board. The spotlight is arranged on the ground of a parking place, and the display board is installed above the spotlight. The display board is made of semitransparent materials, and a light column emitted by the spotlight can irradiate the display board. When an automobile runs to the parking place, light emitted by the spotlight is blocked. The parking place prompting device is simple in structure and convenient to install, and free parking places can be marked well, and can be conveniently found by a driver.
