The invention discloses a method and device capable of effectively preventing a door lock from being blocked and damaged. The device comprises a face plate adaptive to a key hole. The length of the face plate is smaller than the depth of the key hole. A small hole is formed in one end, close to the edge of the key hole, of the face plate. The device further comprises a hook which is matched with the small hole and can hook the face plate out of the key hole. The method includes the following steps that a, the door lock is locked; b, the face plate is aligned with the key hole and pushed into the key hole, so that the face plate completely block the key hole; c, the face plate continues to be pushed inwards till completely getting into the key hole; and d, when the lock is opened, the hook is used for hooking the small hole in the face plate to pull the face plate out of the key hole. By means of the method and device, the door lock can be effectively prevented from being blocked and damaged, the structure is simple and compact, disassembling and assembling are also convenient, and cost is low.
