Friction damper for ancient timber structure tenon-mortise joints
The invention discloses a friction damper for ancient timber structure tenon-mortise joints, comprising a first steel plate portion (1) connected with a column, a second steel plate portion (2) connected with a beam, an inter-plate friction lining (3), a tightening bolt and washer (4), a first hoop (5) for connecting the first steel plate portion (1) with the column, a second hoop (6) for connecting the steel plate portion (2) and the beam, and a bolt hole (10). After assembly, the first steel plate portion (1) and second steel plate portion 92) connected with the beam and column can rotate relative to each other, coefficients of friction between all contact faces are equal, and a certain precompression is applied to a tightening bolt to control frictional amplitude. By making use the feature of a tenon-mortise joint dissipating energy by friction, the damper enables improved the ability of the tenon-mortise joint to dissipate energy and reduced secondary damage to an original structure and is small in size, easy to mount, maintain and replace and especially suitable for wide application in ancient timber structures.
