The invention provides a main keel for a roof formwork. The main keel comprises a shaping keel and a telescopic keel, wherein the telescopic keel is arranged in one end of the shaping keel in a sleeving manner and movably connected with the shaping keel, a first groove is formed in one side surface of the shaping keel in the length direction, a plurality of pairs of positioning pieces are arranged in second grooves, a slideway is arranged on the telescopic keel in the length direction, the telescopic keel is sleeved with a fixed joint and a sliding joint, the sliding joint can move along the slideway, the second grooves are formed in the surfaces of the fixed joint and the sliding joint and located in the same side with the first groove, and the positioning pieces are pairwise arranged in a third groove. According to the main keel for the roof formwork, the length of the main keel can be adjusted as required, the mounting is convenient, and the construction efficiency can be greatly improved.
