A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The invention discloses a novel process for preparing boron carbide and boron carbide elements. The novel process comprises preparation processes as follows: mixing of raw materials, pressing pretreatment and pelleting of the materials, thermal treatment, forming through pressing and cold cutting and the like, wherein a medium-frequency sintering furnace is used for heating in the step of thermal treatment, the power is adjusted to 120 kw/h during heating, heating lasts for 1.35 h, the power is kept at 120 kw/h, thermal insulation is started after the temperature reaches 2,200 DEG C, the power is reduced by 10 kw/h every five minutes, and thermal insulation lasts for 20 minutes; during forming through pressing and cold cutting, pressurization is started after thermal insulation is ended, the medium-frequency sintering finance is controlled by a remote control valve to be pressurized, the pressure is increased to 10 MPa at a constant speed ten minutes before pressurization, then the pressure is increased to 15 MPa at a constant speed in five minutes and kept for five minutes, and finally, cooling for forming is performed through a circulating water feeding furnace. The hardness and the compactness of the boron carbide elements prepared with the novel process are higher and meet requirements of marine equipment and high-precision equipment.
