The invention discloses a preparation process of ZrO2 toughened Al2O3 (ZTA) foamed ceramics; with macromolecular polysaccharide gelatin as a gelatinizing agent, through a gel-casting process, and with utilization of characteristics that gel is dissolved when heated, is solidified when cooled and also has no need of special atmosphere control in a slurry solidifying process, a ZrO2 toughened Al2O3 foamed ceramic blank having complicated shape can be obtained. The method adopts the nontoxic macromolecular polysaccharide to replace an organic monomer for polymerization with a crosslinking agent, and the method is simple, feasible, efficient and environmentally friendly.
