The invention relates to the technical field of functional coatings and aims to provide a preparation method of a coating structure with functions of flame retardance and thermal insulation. The preparation method comprises steps as follows: flame-retardant and thermal-insulation slurry is sprayed to the surface of a substrate through spray painting, and a substrate provided with coating layers is formed; n coating layers are sprayed, the thickness of each coating layer is 40-50 mu m, and n is larger than or equal to 1; during spray painting, the later layer is sprayed after the former layer is air-dried; the substrate provided with the coating layers is subjected to heat treatment in a high-temperature furnace at the temperature of 400 DEG C for 30 min, then the surface is cleaned with clear water, and the coating structure with the functions of flame retardance and thermal insulation is obtained. The thermal conductivity of the product can reach 0.15 W/m*K or be lower than 0.15 W/m*K, and the thermal conductivity of a general thermal insulation coating layer is 0.3 W/m*K; the adhesive force can be higher than the national standard level 1; the coating layer is non-combustible at a high temperature. Therefore, the coating structure with the functions of flame retardance and thermal insulation has the characteristics of high thermal insulation and flame retardance. The cost of raw materials is lower, the preparation technology is simple, and the adhesive force of the coating layers is good; the coating structure adopts a conventional concrete slab or a cement board as the substrate and facilitates large-scale industrial production.
