The invention provides a trigger type energy absorption structure which comprises a trigger piece and an energy absorption assembly. A through cavity and a window are formed in the trigger piece. Theenergy absorption assembly comprises an installation plate, an elastic energy absorption piece and a blocking plate. In the non-triggered state of the trigger type energy absorption structure, the elastic energy absorption piece is contracted in the through cavity, and a second edge of the blocking plate abuts against the inner wall of the trigger piece. In the triggered state of the trigger typeenergy absorption structure, the second edge of the blocking plate is separated from the constraint of the trigger piece, and the elastic energy absorption piece is unfolded and pushes the second edgeof the blocking plate out of the window. The invention further provides a long-distance energy absorption guardrail. According to the trigger type energy absorption structure provided by the invention, the trigger piece is matched with the energy absorption assembly, the blocking plate is released by pushing the trigger piece, the impact force of a foreign object is transmitted to the elastic energy absorption piece through the blocking plate, the kinetic energy of the foreign object is absorbed through the elastic energy absorption piece, and then the foreign object impacting the guardrail finally stops, so that the technical problem that a guardrail can only play a guiding role and is poor in energy absorption effect is effectively solved.
