The invention discloses a single-layer grid string structure and a construction method. The single-layer grid string structure comprises a grid part, a bifurcate column, a string cable and a strut. The grid part comprises grid beams which intersect to form a single-layer grid. The string cable is tightened below the grid part. The strut is connected with the grid part and the string cable. The construction method comprises the steps that platy grid sections, the bifurcate column and a plurality of support tire frames are arranged, the grid sections in each single span are lifted, the adjacentgrid sections are connected to form single-span grid units, the grid units slide backwards by a span, the adjacent grid units are connected to form the grid part, the string cable is inserted into thelower portion of the grid part, and stretching is conducted. Through an accumulative sliding mode, the grid sections are lifted and connected continuously, and the construction process is simple andfast. The single-layer grid part is formed after the multiple grid sections are lifted and spliced, the grid part is simple and light in structure, and the defects that a traditional single-layer gridstring structure is provided with many rod parts, assembly is complex, and the construction quantity is high are overcome.
